The Family was founded in 1928 after the marriage of Shulim Nusinovich Rapoport and Yelizaveta Abramovna Ruskol. Biographies of the Family members, who represent 4 generations, witness the variety of their destinies, striving for education, the ways to obtain the worthy position in society, fusion of different nationalities, emigration and ability to choose the most prestige occupations in different conditions of life in any country. The creation of the Family took place in the complicated prewar and postwar situation. But the family grows and develops steadily. The founders of The Family Shulim Nusinovich and Yelizaveta Abramovna aren’t alive at present. Their second son, Valentin Shulimovich is dead too. Their biographies are written by their descendants according to the documents preserved and to the memoires. Those taking care in the history of the Family, the authors of the biographies put their hearts and souls together with their intellectual potential into this work. They revealed human qualities, merits and demerits, characters, keennesses of their kin through the formal biographical information. We believe that this information will be interesting for the future generations of the Rapoport — the Rappoport family and for everybody who is interesting in genealogy, demography and fates of the people of the bygone century.
